Hair & Makeup

Women: Hair should be done as if you were going to an audition or casting. We can try different styles (i.e. up, down) throughout the shoot, so please bring the necessary items to do so.  Makeup is a must, and I highly recommend having it done professionally.  I also highly recommend the use of my professional makeup artist, Kelley, for an additional cost of $70.  Being familiar with my lighting and style helps her fine tune the makeup to a wonderful end result.  Believe me, this is a major benefit to the outcome of your pictures!  If you choose to use your own makeup artist or do it yourself, when it comes to headshots - less is more, as a natural look is the way to go. (Unless we're going for a specific type of headshot!)

Men: If you use it,a small amount of mousse is fine in your hair, but don't over do it. No makeup necessary for you.  If you typically have dry skin, please have clean and moisturized face prior to the shoot.  If you're more on the oily side, we can take care of that here.  If you have facial hair and want to shoot with it, but also want some clean shaven - just bring your razor and we can split the time with both looks. If you plan on getting a haircut before the shoot, it's in your best interest to wait a few days for it to grow out a bit.

Clothing/ Accessories

I recommend bringing a wide selection of clothing (mainly tops since we're focused on the head) so that we can choose a few that will work best (2-10 options). Don’t think seasonably – sweaters or t-shirts are both fine! Solid colors work best, with whites and blacks as favorites of mine, but colors too close to skin tone can get lost. I suggest to stay away from busy/large prints that get in the way of you! Also, layers and textures work exceptionally well and add dimension to the image. The most important point is that you like what you bring!

Unless piercings are part of your look, please refrain from wearing hanging earring (studs are OK) or hanging necklaces. 

Booking and Payment

I shoot on Saturday mornings and am typically booking 3-6 weeks in advance. A non-refundable 50% deposit is due within 7 days of session date.  If something comes up within the 7 days and you cannot make your session, we can apply your deposit to a rescheduled appointment.

I accept cash and all major credit cards.
